California Stands for Abortion Access

California NOW Stands for Abortion
Released on January 22, 2024
The Supreme Court issued its landmark decision in Roe v. Wade — “claiming that the
unduly and restrictive state regulation of abortion was unconstitutional” on January
22, 1973. Then, on June 24, 2023, The Supreme Court reversed the decision,
endangering the lives of individuals across the United States.

Women are dying to receive basic healthcare just as we knew it would occur. The
restrictive and cruel bans were ready to be implemented in many states. State
legislators introduced 563 provisions to restrict access to abortion since 2022. We
know these bans impact the lives of marginalized groups disproportionately.

Let’s be clear. We stand for bodily autonomy and an individual’s right to make
decisions about abortion. We will continue to resist and fight against any legislation
that seeks to limit or restrict women’s freedoms.
